Labrador-tea is a native, perennial evergreen shrub. It has alternate, oblong leaves that reach 1-3 inches long. The white flowers bloom in May. Seed capsules are produced in late summer and are 1 1/2 inches long. Labrador-tea grows to a height of 3 feet tall. It is found in bogs, swamps and woods in the northern part of North America and was used to make tea during the Revolutionary War.
